Shreyas Iyer & Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 Highlights

• Ajinkya Rahane was the Player of the Series- Played brilliantly throughout the tournament and was the highest run scorer.
• Rajat Patidar had a wonderful season as well scoring the 2nd most runs in the tournament and at a very high strike rate as well.
• Shreyas Iyer won his 2nd T20 tournament as captain. In fact, Shreyas has now won his 4th tournament in a row (captain & non captain) IPL, Ranji, Irani Cup and now SMAT. He also scored the 4th most runs in the SMAT 2024 Tournament with an astonishing strike rate of 188.5.

Shreyas Iyer -I doubt whether any other player has ever won so many tournaments as a player in a single year. He basically won all the domestically played tournaments including IPL in the year 2024.

He needs to be taken back in BCCI Contract List and be at least given the VC role in the upcoming CT2025 ODI. If he continues playing the way he played in SMAT and Ranji then he should also be considered for T20I and Tests.
